“Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you’ll do. And attitude determines how well you’ll do it.”

A lifetime of service...
I’m a problem solver and I’ve spent my entire professional life being part of the solution. After graduating with a bachelor degree from San Diego State University, I joined the San Diego Sheriff’s Department because I wanted to make my community a better place to live. As a deputy sheriff in law enforcement operations, I had the unique opportunity to directly influence the quality of life for people living in my area by solving crimes and responding to emergencies.
Early in my career it became apparent that I had an aptitude for information technology systems. I was often tasked with providing formal training on various information applications and providing desk-side support for my colleagues. I also created and maintained the Sharepoint website for my division.
In 2005 I began supporting Great Expressions Photography on a part-time consultation basis. I installed their SOHO network and built a robust file server system with a raid-array and real-time backup to the cloud. Over the years, I’ve helped the company with hardware and software installation, upgrades and maintenance.
In 2014, I founded the Inspired Mind Learning Center to help children in grades 4-12 learn math and science. As the sole founder, I created the company from the ground up. I installed a SOHO network that included desktops, laptops, iPads, and peripherals like printers, projectors, and digital signage. I also developed all the necessary processes to make the learning center successful. I created the marketing campaigns, website, curriculum and managed a team of seven tutors and teachers. Our after-school programs were so popular we were chosen to be the sole provider of STEM classes for the Big Sister’s Organization of San Diego.
Now I have decided to make information technology my full-time career. I recently earned an associate degree in cybersecurity and a Comptia Network+ certificate. I want to utilize my new degree and my experience with information technology systems to find an entry-level job supporting network operations. I have the skills, abilities and experience necessary to be a valuable employee for your company.
